This assignment gives you an opportunity to revise one of your marked paragraph assignments in terms of the writing mechanics, sentence structure and paragraph organization and development.

Topic: Your paragraph from Reading Writing Test #1 OR #2

1. Error Correction (3) - Type out your original paragraph. Make the changes in grammar, spelling, and sentence structure that are necessary to fix the mistakes that were identified when your original paragraph was marked. Do not get outside assistance from another person to fix your mistakes—however, you may use the grammar- and spell-checking features on the computer, or use our textbook or online grammar resources.

Track these changes using the track-changes feature of Microsoft Word. If you do not have a colour printer, then show the changes you have made to your original paragraph by using bold type or a different font.

• one simple sentence (i.e., a sentence that consists of one independent clause only)

• one compound sentence (i.e., a sentence that consists of two independent clauses joined by a conjunction).

7. Three transition words (1.5) - When you print out your revised paragraph, circle by hand three transitional words that are correctly used in your paragraph.

8. Two reading references (2) - Use the highlighting feature of your word-processing program, or highlight by hand two places in your paragraph in which you refer to the reading as required in the paragraph assignment. (If you did not include support relating to the reading, you need to revise your paragraph to include the two required references to the reading and then highlight them.)
