Below we have added some further elaboration on points you could consider. You are not required to include each and every one, but a good selection to demonstrate your ability to recognise the complex ethical tensions of public health policy and practice. In preparing this assignment, it will be up to you to give due consideration (through discussion, argument, justication as applicable) to what you think are pertinent factors:
Consider who are the population groups that benet and those who don’t from the current approach – could this be done differently and if so, what are the ethical/moral implications of doing things differently or doing nothing?
Are there ethical dimensions to this case/issue that are not addressed in the literature? If so, what are the ‘silences’ and why do you think they are not addressed in policy and/or debate? What might be at stake?
Apply critical analytical skills for examining the ethical challenges in developing public health and/or health management policy
Identify and apply ethical frameworks applicable to a variety of substantive areas in public health
