For instance, in every day society, many people get irritated when the people around them speak in a different hen their own. Many of us are egocentric. When someone around us speaking a different language, the first thought in our mind is usually, “l wonder if theft talking about me. ” People are always focused on themselves in a way in public, but are always looking to be appealing to the public. Another idea she should have touched a little more on was how important a language is in a home. I now from experience that a family feels much more comfortable speaking their own language.For a time in my life, I lived with a Hispanic family. For me, it was always a little frustrating that I could not understand everything that they said.

I believe that this is part of the beauty of languages. You do not have to take a class to learn them, but instead just be around them for a while. You begin to pick up on key phrases and how the words flow together. Gradually you start to piece things together. This is the truly beautiful thing about languages. It’s not all about memorizing, but simply paying attention, and listening, which is a lost art in today’s society.

Her lack of detail on how influential it is to be able to speak more than one language hurts the overall integrity of the story.
