The reason for the choice of case study is that Castle Vale has been heralded as a positive example of urban regeneration and has won numerous awards and accolades for its practice. You need to delve into the case study to establish why this is the case. What is the essence of the approach that we can potentially capture and apply elsewhere? The task is to identify what factors have made Castle Vale work as an example of best practice. This will involve a number of different activities including desk-based research, a field study visit, and some practitioner based presentations that are intended to help inform the study.
