DHCP LAB - Exercise #1

The DHCP Server will try to lease a client broadcasting for an IP address. The DHCP server will respond by leasing an IP address from a pool of addresses that is configured to lease with option configured in that scope. You will configure and test this process during this lab.

EXERCISE 1. Installing the DHCP Server Role.

SERVER.

• Select ADD features and NEXT, NEXT and NEXT and then INSTALL.

• Open Server Manager. Select Tools, then DHCP.

• In the DHCP Page. Right Click IPv4, Select New Scope, NEXT

• Yes I want to configure these options. Next

• Router= 192.168.1.1 Add. NEXT

• Log on to Server02.

• Right Click on the Network Icon on the Tool Bar of Server02. Select Open Network and

• Select the Obtain and IP address Automatically. And Obtain DNS server address

Automatically.

• Type IPCONFIG /all

• Log On to RWDC01

• Open the DHCP Application Console.

• Mac Address= Type the MAC of Server02.

• Supported Type= Both.

Is this the same IP address you made the Reservation: YES NO

• Select Change adapter settings.

• Right click Ethernet adapter. Select Properties. Then Internet Protocol Version 6. Select

• Right Click IPv6. Select NEW Scope, Next.

• Scope Name= Advanced Team. Description= Nasa

• Log on to Server02.

• Open the command prompt. Type IPCONFIG /renew6.

• Install the Role of the DHCP on RWDC01 and SERVER01.• On RWDC01 open the DHCP application.

• Select IPv4, Action, Configure Failover, Next.

• Type IPCONFIG /RELEASE and then IPCONFIG /RENEW• After getting an IP Address. Type IPCONFIG /ALL.

• What is the IP address of the DHCP SERVER: IP Address: ____192.168.1.50_________ RWDC01
• Open the DHCP application.

Note that the two DHCP Server addresses must be different in each of the lease result.
