DHCP LAB - Exercise #1

The DHCP Server will try to lease a client broadcasting for an IP address. The DHCP server will respond by leasing an IP address from a pool of addresses that is configured to lease with option configured in that scope. You will configure and test this process during this lab.

EXERCISE 1. Installing the DHCP Server Role.

SERVER.

• Select ADD features and NEXT, NEXT and NEXT and then INSTALL.

• Open Server Manager. Select Tools, then DHCP.

• In the DHCP Page. Right Click IPv4, Select New Scope, NEXT

• Yes I want to configure these options. Next

• Router= 192.168.1.1 Add. NEXT

• Log on to Server02.

• Right Click on the Network Icon on the Tool Bar of Server02. Select Open Network and

• Select the Obtain and IP address Automatically. And Obtain DNS server address

Automatically.

• Type IPCONFIG /all

What is the IP address of the DNS given by the DHCP Server: _____________________

• Open the DHCP Application Console.

• Double Click on the Scope you created.

• Supported Type= Both.

Part 2 - Test result from Server02

Is this the same IP address you made the Reservation: YES NO

EXERCISE 5 Configure the DHCP Server with a Scope of IPv6 Addresses.

Properties.

• Use the Following IPv6 Address: 2FFF::1111

• Scope Prefix Page. Prefix=2FFF:: Subnet Prefix Length=64 Next.

• Add Exclusion: AAAA:1:1:1 to BBBB:1:1:1 Next
