Content - Review of land use planning, environmental management and protection matters in local and state government as it relates to protection of the natural environment and human health impacts. Review of EIA, pollution management and bio-diversity issues and the licensing/environmental impacts of Environmental Activities and other legislative requirements in Redland City and surrounding areas.

Recommendations for future land use planning, Industry EPA Approvals, National and Marine Park requirements and the recommendations for environmental protection in communities including policy, planning and compliance and enforcement measures.

General Aim of Field Trip/Studies:
2.1 Understand the need for a 'balanced' use of the natural assets in Redland City and surrounding regions become familiar with the environmental or health problems in Industry and the relevant Environmental Policy/Acts and Regulations, and National Park Requirements/Marine Park Zones/Indigenous Zoning and commercial and recreational boating and fishing rules/regs. Experience the development and the diverse pristine natural environment in this area - consider human impacts on the environment and the need to manage the Cities activities and preserve the National and Marine Park,
2.5 Review the Dept of Env and Heritage Protection (DEHP) / Moreton Bay Zoning (allowed usage) and for Stradbroke Island, Moreton Bay and Bay Islands and Moreton island in relation to dredging, recreational and commercial fishing, eco-tourism, mining, mosquito management across islands, flooding/disaster and coastal management
2.6 Provide an experience for students to appreciate the wetland estuaries, fishing and the need for a balance between economic, social, cultural and recreational interest’s across Moreton Bay - Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island.
