THE EXOSYSTEM

The exosystem is part of the ecosystem theory developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner in the 1970s.It include other formal and informal social structures themselves are not included in the child ,but when they affect them ,they indirectly affect one of their microsystem .Example of ecosystem include neighbrhoods ,parents workplace friends and mass media .These are environments in which the child is not involved ,and are external to their experience ,but nonetheless affect them anyway.

DISCUSSION AND DEMOSTRACTION HOW THIS MODEL CAN BE UTILIZED IN CLASS

Bronfrenbrenner’s ecosystem model help to understand the learners learning environment. I can do this by identifying me as a part of the students’ microsystem and to establish quality learning environment. Teachers at the secondary level have broad and comprehensive understanding of student learning environment and demonstrate the ability to establish positive, productive, well –managed, and safe learning environment for all learners. As a part of this system I need to be positive role model for the learners to look up to. The only way to succeed in this is to follow through on all commitments and listen to their learners. This shows how learners should act towards one another. This will help learners to understand the home life of each learner to make a close environment. It’s possible by giving learners a project or theories that are important to the math class. Having a night where the learners will present their project when the parents are available. Parents will be able to see their learners have learned and all of their hard work. The interaction programme like this can strengthen the mesosystem and help the teacher to understand the learners learning environment by seeing and interacting with learner’s parents.
