The health care issues is one of burning discussion around the globe where the system is losing patients  because of errors and accidents, negligency and infection in the hospitals itself. The quantum is as large as 500 patients per day besides the million of paitients who are suffering because of the procedures which were not even required in the first place. This has led to the widespread frustration and urgency among the people who have lost patience in the search of change in all these procedures (Alexander, 2016).

The crowd affected is majorly the old aged population, the women in pregnancy and the children particularly. The major reasons for the same may be listed as follows:

  1. Too much of unnecessary care even where it isnot required leading to waste of funds and resources. Eg. Early deliveries leading to health issues.
  2. Harm to patients during their stay at the hospital/clinic which can be avoided. Th statistics say one out of four patients suffer from the same.
  3. Lots of funds are being wasted unnecessarily instead of being applied in infrastructural development and improving the quality of healthcare.
  4. There is lack of transaparency in the system for the end user as to where to go for the best available remedy and lifesaving health care(Belton, 2017).

The long term impacts of these is that in case the present issues are not adhered to and remedied at the earliest, this may result in loss of lives and funds withput achieveing the target for what health care is provided for.

The other major issue which is affecting the health care industry and the patients at large is the lack of funds the cost of the treatment being very high where the patients are draining out their pockets and the hospitals/clinics are also running into losses because of lack of collaboration and partnership (Das, 2017).

The above analysis has been done to arrive the cost and the revenue for the hospital/ clinic providing health care facility. The cost benefit analysis has been done using assumptions that the hospitals earn the net profit at the average rate of 20%, the main costs out of which is consumed in personnel costs (nurses and doctors fees and practitioners). Further, there are various types of non personell costs like the bed care, the investment in infrastructure, the fixed assets, the medicines, the apparatus, printing and supplies, etc (Heminway, 2017).

It can be seen that if the major issue or concern is the wrong apportionment of expenses and the less care being given to infrastructural requirements and the nursing care. Further, the technological advancement is the need of the hour which can ease out the long term cost and improve the quality of health care and medication. The other major concern is that the medical students are entering the value based world instead of the quality and safety driven healthcare occupation. 

Conclusion

From the above analysis, it can be seen that the health care units are no more quality driven but value driven. The most affected unit out of this is the population which cannot bear the cost of making it to the best services available.

The health care ministry in the respective country and the authorities approving the doctors and the medical institution needs to play a big role in this. Along with the same, some other recommendations are:

  1. They need to tighten the certificate requirements for the doctors and physicians.
  2. They need to put a stack and the maximum bar on the kind of treatment offered and what is charged against the same(Trieu, 2017).
  3. More focus on nursing care needs to be given so that the nurses can be future leaders and replacing the doctors and providing intensive health care facilities at affordable prices.
  4. The infrastructural requirements needs to be met and no. of care beds needs to be increased as per the requirement.
  5. Further, the reach of the health care units and clinics needs to be extended to the villages and the areas where it is not accessible and people are losing out on the timely and quality health care services.
  6. Collaboration to increase amongst the different health care units(Jefferson, 2017).
  7. Need of technological advancements to reduce the per head cost and increase the rate of remedy.

These are few of the recommendations which can improve the health care industry which is already on path to make a difference.
