Section 1: Analysis of Options

Sally proposes three campaign options, and Joe suggests a fourth (a combination of Sally’s Options 1 & 2).  In this section, you will analyze each option independently, using Josephson’s core values (from W1) as the basis for your analysis.  Use a second-level heading (as presented below) for each campaign option; use a third-level heading for each of the core values.  (A third-level heading starts after the paragraph indention and is in bold; only the first letter of the first word of the third-level heading heading is capitalized, and the heading ends with a period.)  Note that this section does not include your evaluation of which option is “best,” as that will be addressed in the following section of the case study assignment.

Option 1: Vitamin-Enriched

In this section, you will identify how each of Josephson’s core values (from W1) applies to Sally’s proposed “hard-hitting” campaign that emphasizes that the cereals are vitamin-enriched.

Trustworthiness.  This is an example of a third-level heading.  Trustworthiness is one of Josephson’s six core values; others are respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, as described in the W1 readings.  You will use a third-level heading for each of the core values.  In each of these sub-sections, be specific as to how the campaign option is supportive of, or is counter to, the core value.

Option 2: High Fiber

In this section, you will identify how each of Josephson’s core values (from W1) applies to Sally’s proposed campaign that emphasizes that the cereals are natural and are high in fiber. 

Trustworthiness.  This is an example of a third-level heading.  Trustworthiness is one of Josephson’s six core values; others are respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, as described in the W1 readings.  You will use a third-level heading for each of the core values.  In each of these sub-sections, be specific as to how the campaign option is supportive of, or is counter to, the core value.

Option 3: Broad-Based Appeal

In this section, you will identify how each of Josephson’s core values (from W1) applies to Sally’s proposed campaign that would have a more broad-based appeal.  Use a third-level heading for each of the core values.

Option 4: Combination Approach

In this section, you will identify how each of Josephson’s core values (from W1) applies to Joe’s recommendation to combine Option 1 and Option 2.  Use a third-level heading for each of the core values.

Trustworthiness.  This is an example of a third-level heading.  Trustworthiness is one of Josephson’s six core values.  You will have a third-level heading for each of the core values.  After each heading, be specific as to how the campaign option is supportive of, or is counter to, the core value.  Do not simply refer back to the content you provided in your discussion of Option 1 and Option 2 earlier in this section; in other words, this should be an independent section.

Section 2: Evaluation of Options and Recommendation

Review your analysis of options, in light of the relevant facts and the stakeholders you identified in earlier sections.  Put yourself in Sally’s shoes:  Which campaign do you recommend, and why?  Provide a compelling argument for your decision, as to why is it better than the other evaluated options.
