This presentation is being designed to through light on the topic ‘globalization of food’. The presentation will discuss the positive as well as negative impact of globalization of food.

Globalization of Food

Policies of agriculture and its effects endure varying at an alarming pace. Approximately the only aspect that continues to remain the same is the farmers and migrant workers then, and they continue to operate today. The manner food production and farming conducted has altered in various ways, along with the place where products are shipped and how they are produced and packed (Sosy Migrant, 2012).

The sector of Agriculture has become more efficient since the last century. Various changes have been fuelled by the worldwide economy; different products are shipped from across the globe, comprising products of agriculture (Sosy Migrant, 2012).

According to the research, the optimistic scopes of development on health and diet comprise superior access to health care services and education and great accessibility of varied foods. However, there are also some adverse features, comprising the diet with the maximum amount of sugar and fat ingredients, progressively inactive lifestyles, and environmental pollution (Kennedy, Nantel and Shetty, 2004).

The altering system of food carried by the globalization forces has led to new opportunities and challenges:

Native culture and traditions of food are vanishing, where international and transnational companies are progressively directing national food.

In addition, for various countries, deficiencies of micronutrient is one of the major concern as a result, several nations in the emerging world are dealing with increasing burden of undernutrition and food timidity.

Similarly, alterations in the physical activities and diet are increasing the occurrence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mainly diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and coronary heart disease (Kennedy, Nantel and Shetty, 2004).

Benefits of Globalization

Large-scale businesses that once subcontracted to international countries are now supplying their products across the world.

People can now connect to every part of the world because of internet connections facilities that make communication easier and faster with webcams and chat (Metz, 2013).

Due to globalization, people can try new and international famous dishes at their home locations.

Globalization has influenced all the aspects of the modern life. For example, the citizen of U.S. might not able to find Beijing, China on a map, but surely can buy a number of products that are produced there (Kuepper, 2018). This is because of the increased media coverage that is making people aware of different goods and services present all over the world.
