Some of the pressures on NSW health is outmoded processes along with steadily declining patient are levels. In that case, digitization can help to address these issues within every part of the healthcare system. Accordingly, healthcare is a complex system which requires buying from manufacturers, distributors along with providers. The eHealth priorities of NSW Health plan includes integrated care solution, workforce and business management systems, Innovation, access to information, data analytics along with infrastructure, security, and intelligence. The second strategy in NSW Health plan is workforce and business management. This requires ehealth in order to enhance systems and tools to improve workforce management. Workforce information, roistering along with learning management solutions needs digitization in order for it to be effective. The other priority within the plan which requires digitization is accessibility to information. The next priority with the plan which can only be accomplished by digitization is data and analytics. This will outline the approaches which the NSW will take to improve decision making along with organization performance. Conversely, data mobilization, population health intelligence along with enhanced research will progress the analytics agenda in NSW Health Marshall et al. (2016).

 Innovation is another strategy of NSW Health plan which can only be accomplished by digitization. eHealth can help develop and implement new ideas across the healthcare systems. Last but not least, infrastructure, security, and intelligence is another priority within the NSW Health plan. This involves shifting the NSW elements to cloud-based. In that case, the electronic systems need to be availed, reliable and secure through all the initiatives like Health Identity management and security and privacy strategy which greatly requires digitization (NSW Ministry of Health, 2014).

Discussion of Findings

According to my opinion, I think the government should not devote more resources to NSW Health just for the expansion of digital infrastructure to support healthcare and allocate fewer resources to other industries. This is because there are industries which are equally important to the citizens. Industries like agriculture ship building and mining have a great importance to the citizens of New South Whales too Marshall et al. (2016). In that case, even if people will have good healthcare delivery, they deserve other basic needs of life. The mineral industry too has a massive contribution to the NSW economy and therefore should also receive enough resources to make sure it is operating to its maxima. As an illustration, the mineral industry is estimated to purchase $ 9.6 billion of goods and services every year and 60% is sourced from within NSW (Edwards, Stickney, Milat, Campbell & Thackway, 2017).

The NSW government can provide more digital hospitals along with more digital community-based health services because of too much population. However, it has balance resources since digital hospitals are expensive and if care is not taken then it affects the economy.  This will make sure that each and every individual is monitored keenly and receives proper medication as expected (Ranade, 2016).

The digital infrastructure to support health care can be provided by implementing internet platform which provides e-services which facilitates sharing virtual healthcare record along with communication among the authorized healthcare professionals. Accordingly, digital infrastructure can be provided by the introduction of robots within the HIT infrastructure to help the clinicians treat patients and also assist during surgery (Barton, 2015).

In terms of supplying needs in the future, what should be consumed now depends on what is available. However, enough has to be consumed now because what is done now will carry the future. In terms of health services, I think the sectors of surgery and technical operations needs digital technologies because those are the services that a human being can fail to do accurately and timely. Moreover, everybody should be allowed to all services provided capable to meet expenses Blank et al. (2017).

Recommendations

If I were a consultant at digitization of healthcare economy then I would recommend NSW to implement electronic health records along with mobile applications. This is because mobile apps can assist individuals to control their personal health and gain accessibility to useful information wherever they need it. Furthermore, the mobile applications can help the professionals to improve and facilitate patient care. That will help them in achieving their plan is all about innovation, access to information, integrated care solutions and core clinical systems. Mobile applications along with electronic records are manageable in terms of pricing and hence efficient since data can be accessed at any time when needed. Lastly, digital health can greatly contribute to the long-term sustainability of healthcare systems since information cannot easily be lost.
