Organizational culture refers to the underlying assumptions, virtues, beliefs and interacting ways that enhance the uniqueness of the psychological and social setting of an organization. In a hospital setting, the culture of responsiveness and patient-centered approach enable health workers to effectively respond to the patients’ choices and needs. This enables them to equally become partners in their care (Morrow, et al., 2012). The aspect of relational coordination enhances the quality of care services because the practice facilitates the reinforcement of communication between patients and health workers (Hartgerink, et al., 2014). Staff turnover is another aspect of organizational culture that is considered as one of the powerful drivers of performance. It ensures that the needs of patients are fully attended to. Provision of motivation frameworks on a performance basis would encourage health workers to selflessly serve the patients hence improving the quality of care services. For instance, appraisals could be done quarterly to recognize and probably award the best performing health workers. The impact of organizational culture is also realized through professional service user relationship. It would ensure that the health workers uphold legal and moral obligations to users of health care services and the commitment of care to all. This is because it requires professionals to demonstrate reverence for individual dignity, autonomy, belief, and culture through allegiance to the principles of confidentiality and consent. Therefore, the health workers are keen not to condone or engage in behavior that would cause psychological, physical or emotional distress to anyone especially the patients. The working relationships among health workers also affect the health care service delivery. For example, cohesive relationships would impact positively on the organizations’ operations.
