Imagine that you are the last survivor of an apocalypse caused by an outbreak of a deadly virus resulting from contemporary scientific experiments (the specifics are not important). Realizing that life of some kind may emerge after you are gone, write a manifesto on bioethics. Your manifesto will briefly explain humanity's understanding of bioethics, analyze how humanity's bioethical approach may have led to this disaster (again, the specifics of the outbreak are not important; focus on the ethical perspectives and reasoning), and propose an ethical approach that will avoid such a disaster in the future.

This manifesto is from the hands of the last survivor of the apocalypse that took place in year 2018. The entire humanity has been wiped off from earth, due to the deadly experiment, conducted by a group of scientists, involving a dangerous virus.  

Aim

To inform the next life forms about our species and humanity and how we got perished.

Bioethics and how the entire humanity was at risk

Bioethics can be considered as the reflective determination of the ethical issue in medical research sciences and health care. It is the philosophical discipline pertaining to good or bad. It is the practice that prevents the conduction of the dangerous experiments, which could have had a startling effect on science but can be dangerous to mankind. This also involves involvement of human subjects in scientific experiments without their consent. In our case the researchers did a clinical trials about a deadly virus. They wanted to find out the evolutionary process of the virus in order to prepare vaccines against them and hence injected them without the information of the study and the consequences. Discovery of this vaccine might could have stirred the medical world but again we should have thought for the greater good.

Future recommendation

The scientists should obey by the principles for bioethics –

• Autonomy
• Beneficence
• No maleficence
• Justice

If any tests can bring destruction to a species it is better to consider the greater good.  Both the scientists and the participants should be fully aware of the pros and cons of the experiment carried out. Informed consent from the participants is necessary. The experiment should be terminated anytime if any danger is perceived and participants should be allowed to do so as per their will. Proper researches should be carries out regarding the procedures. Such an act of carelessness can lead to destruction of a whole species.
