Explain how politics and economics may influence health and the health care system from your own perspective. Analyze whether the political and/or economic systems play a major role in your or your family’s access to health and explain why. Economics and politics

Some governments consider health as a noteworthy factor, and they make it the most significant priority when making policies. However, sometimes people are governed by money, and they forget about their health leading to increased cases of diseases such as obesity. Some nations may fail to make policies on the consumption of certain foodstuffs, and this affects all people who consume them (“St. Michael's Hospital”, 2015). The industries which produce foods would not like to see policies against their products because they are only interested in making profits. Politics in a country and economic state has a significant influence on health care and health among individuals.  

Economic status and politics have a significant influence on my family’s access to health care services. In the United States, there is a high life expectancy due to the increased provision of health services. Other countries do not have enough capital, and they experience numerous cases of premature mortality. People with low social, economic status experience difficulties when looking for health care services. In nations like Mexico, people suffer from malnutrition due to increased oppression by the landowners. Farmers cannot feed their families efficiently because of their economic status and the policies made by the government does not also favor them (Mor, 2016). However, the government or other non-governmental organizations can help in addressing these issues and improve the healthcare services provided in a country.

As discussed in this paper, it is evident that the government has a significant influence on healthcare provision of individuals. The government can impose heavy taxes on the rich and then transfer the charges to the poor people, and this can increase their participation in healthcare services. The governments create health laws, and this can enhance the well-being of citizens. The government can also assist by financing public services such as hospitals to strengthen the welfare of its citizens. In conclusion, we can see that the economic and political status of a country has a significant influence on healthcare provision. Proper intervention by the government is therefore necessary for better regulation of healthcare services. According to this paper it is evident that the government determines the type of health services to be provide for its citizens.
