What made the girl burst into tears?

Dweck helps us in getting the difference between the fixed mindset and the growth mindset. The fixed mindset can also be termed as the entity theory of intelligence whereas the growth mindset can also be called the incremental approach. In the fixed mindset, one’s ability is seen as permanent in that he/she is brilliant or not. On the other hand, a growth mindset is the ability of brilliance growth when the appropriate learning chances are provided (Dweck, 2008). The Korean girl seems to have cried because the teacher did not focus on the motivational aspect that is joined to the mindset (Thompson, 2014). People tend to put much attention to gifting and natural ability failing to look into this aspect. This is a temporal aspect that is joined to the mindset. Many people including the teacher to this girl think that a gift is an ability itself which is not.

How to bridge the gap between fixed and growth mindset type of student.

Not all students are the same, and therefore essential tools need to be employed to ensure that they are all at the same level at the same level at the end of the lesson. Computer programing is about trial and error, and this might discourage the students. The best way will be to determine the level of intelligence of each child and then motivate and encourage the weak ones to take the challenge and fight their failures (Dweck, 2008).

The values and drawbacks of Wikipedia

Wikipedia over time has been termed as an untrustworthy place to do academic research. However, it is also termed as an excellent place to start a research a terrible area to end it. Despite all these critics, it argues very well on how the articles were created making it transparent. It can be a helpful tool in research, but one should not rely on it so much.
