Answer:
Football is a game originally developed in China about 500 years from now. It is the most followed and loved sport of the century and is played by two teams each team consisting of 11 players at a time. The game is termed to be most loved game of the earth as it is played in about 200 different countries and is played by about 250 million players. However, there is a different format to the game with different names, the one that I follow is known as Soccer or Association Football. The main and highest governing body of Association Football is FIFA.
The Football Ground
Football is the game played on a rectangular grass field with goal posts on each end of the smaller length sides of the rectangular field. Each team is assigned a goal side and has the responsibility to protect it and score a goal in the opposite team's goal side. The objective of the game is for players to place the ball inside goalpost to score a point. The measurements of the rectangular field range from 110-120 yards in length and 64-75 yards in width.
Game Play
A game of football is divided into two halves of 45 minutes and during each half, the time never stops despite the presence of ball infield or not. In case of a draw, the extra time could be allotted in a match with an allowance of the referee as in the game referee is termed as official timekeeper.
The first law of the game is that no player of any team apart from the goalkeepers are allowed to deliberately touch the ball from their hands or touch it. The rest of the players can hold the ball with both their hands in case of throw in restart which happens when a player from opposing team pushes the ball out of the border.
International Competitions
The most major international event of football is the world cups that happen in every 4 years, organized by FIFA in which different teams from about 190 countries participate to be qualified in the main event that consists of 32 national teams.
Apart from world cups, other major football events are European Championships, Copa America, OFC national cup and FIFA Confederation Cup.
