Response to the emergency management plan in hospitals

The purpose of this paper is to discuss about the usage of the medications that the doctors and the paramedics use in the emergency management plan (Mayzell, Protzman & Kerpchar, 2014). The working professionals in the healthcare will look to improvise the emergency management plan as they have to deal with the critical patients who come to these hospitals on an emergency basis. The safety and security of the patients is given the utmost priority in these circumstances. The hospital security team is set up to see to the needs of the emergency patients. A proper framework will have to be prepared as to how the pharmacy leaders will have to respond to the state of the emergency. The Local Emergency Group (LEG) should be called up and they should advise upon the ways the persons can be treated properly (Mayzell, Protzman & Kerpchar, 2014).

There are four steps or processes for the successful emergency management planning. These are Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery. The readiness resources should be kept active and locations for all the emergency switches should be known. The staffs will have to be put into the action as per the staff contact list. As a specialist in the pharmaceuticals, one should always sketch the floor plan so the needed resources could be allocated properly (Zgarrick et al., 2016). All the medicines should be kept at readiness like the most important anti biotic injections, the thermometers, gloves and other things should be kept at its proper place. This will ensure that no time is being wasted and all the instructions of the seniors are followed properly.
