Mgmt6000 Dynamic Leadership For The Assessment Answers

Describe the Dynamic Leadership For the Personal Development Plan.

Answer:

Introduction:

A personal development plan is a necessary tool for the professionals and students who want their goals to be achieved in a proper way and in the right time (Rothaermel 2015). The plan uses the concept of self-reflection and helps one to keep the track of his progress and plan accordingly his future actions (Avolio and Yammarino 2013). It also helps one understand the changes required to make his skills better and also help him to be more successful. Sticking to the plan also helps one to understand his weakness, work on them, and hone his skills. The personal and professional development plan helps the individual to mark and note his own track of progress and the speed with which he is progressing. Given the undeniable fact that success demands proper planning and hard work, the personal and professional plan helps in that process only (Bouhali et al. 2015). It makes the person achieve his professional and personal goals in an organized way. in order to achieve my goal I have engaged in a goal setting process. For this assessment I have set three goals and have made a plan accordingly so that I can achieve the goals in a given time of three years.

Situation Analysis

SWOT Analysis:

During the time of my first assignment, I have discovered my strengths and weaknesses. I have discovered that I have certain very strong aspects that will help me achieve my goals and I have my weaknesses too on which I need to work. In order to analyze and explain my strengths and weaknesses I have decided to make a SWOT analysis as it severs as a great tool to evaluate one’s strength, weakness, opportunity and threats.

Strength

           Weakness

Opportunities

Threats

· Easygoing character.

· Strong human skills.

· Good communication skills.

· Leadership qualities.

· Not good with making decisions in time.

· Escapes conflicting situations.

· Not good with dealing stress.

· Proper usage of PPDP to work on both strengths and weaknesses.

Making the SWOT analysis is important as it gives a clear picture of the character flaws and strengths. Following this table, I will be able to work on improving my weaknesses and sharpen the strengths that I have. In addition, it has to be kept in mind that my weaknesses should not hold me down from reaching my goals and lower my potential. Thus, I will follow this table to work on my skills.

Personal Value Survey:

Another strategy that I have adapted to reach my goal is making a Personal Value Survey. It helps in self-evaluating my values and thus helps me settle my goals basing on my values. The positive side of creating goals based on one’s own values is that one will believe in the goals and work hard towards achieving it.

Reflection on my PPDP:

In the process of making my Personal and Professional Development Plan I have been able to work on my self assessment skills and realize my current situation in association with my aim of becoming a transformational ethical leader. In this process, I have also been able to work in a state of self-awareness. However, understanding one’s own strengths and developments is just the first step of succeeding in a project. It is just the first step towards becoming a successful professional in whatever field one chooses to be. Doing my Personal Value Survey has helped me gain insight about my own values and priorities. I have now understood what kind of jobs will go in accordance with my system of values. It has given me the proper vision about my career goals and what I want to become. In the process of making the plan, I have understood that selecting and determining goals is a very tough and time taking process. It demands a lot of attention and in depth analysis of one’s skills as well as of the sector of the profession that he wants to go in.  It needs a lot of reflective thinking about the job and the requirements of the job. However, the hard work that has to be put in that process is worth it as it brings a clear picture about one’s own-self and what he really wants. In the process of setting my goals I have come to know certain traits and demands of my own character which were previously not known to me. I have come to know about the things I am passionate about in the course of making the pan and setting my goals.

I have chosen my career goals basing on what I want from my professional life. Most of my goals are associated with managerial qualities and leading people. I have also set a goal for finding a job that really suits me and makes me happy. Professional satisfaction happens to be one of my major requirements and I have set my goals in accordance to that only. I believe that the goals I have set will help me achieve my maximum potential.

I had faced certain obvious obstacles in the process of preparing my PPDP. Time management happened to be one of the most severe issues that I had to deal with. Even the process of following the Personal and Professional Development Plan is quite ambitious because the achievement of the goals in selected in a span of three years is a demanding task. However, with proper management of time, concentration and determination I believe I will be able to achieve my goals in the stipulated time.
