In the most recent years, there is a lot of growing concern with regard to the role of private and public household market in the Australian housing system. according to various research, there is an indication that the landlords in Australia decide to withdraw from the lower end of the private rental markets and that the effectiveness or the investment returns of the negative gearing are continuously becoming lower and lower in the markets (auburn, 2017).

According to the 2011 census, the population of auburn stood at 33,122 which comprised of 47.9% of women and 52.1% of male.  The median age of the people living in Auburn is 29 years. However most of them did not come from the suburb as only 31.8% of them were born in Australia (auburn, 2017).

Conclusion

Looking at the demographics of Auburn, it can be conclude that there is a very high disparity when it comes to wealth, job and resource distribution. The suburb however is among the most cosmopolitan in south wales which makes it one of the most independent suburbs in the city. It is important that the local council puts more investments on job creating and home infrastructure since only a few can afford their own homes.  

This should be able to contribute to the major city’s gentrification of removing large numbers of lower stock of rentals, thus pushing the investment market the households into the outer and the middle suburbs. In this manner, there can act on the concerns affecting the  lower income households that are always reliant on the private rentals also being concentrated to the longer periods in the market for Auburn and other major cities. In addition, this will also act to put more pressure to the labor markets opportunities for the said households.
