As a group, research and analyze the leadership styles of your selected leaders with reference to the leadership concepts covered in the unit (ethics, evolution of leadership, psychology of leadership, multi-cultural leadership, leadership theories). Compare and contrast the selected leaders and present an argument for which of the leaders presents the most effective leadership style for the contemporary globalised economy.

Answer:

The group work process has been carried out in this assignment where we had to choose three leaders, two from the textbook and one of our own choices. These three leaders have been compared effectively and we were able to communicate and join all the things together with the help of Internet.  It was an effective way because with this we were able to informally interact with each other and were able to get regular feedback on how we all were doing (Steen, 2011).

Comments of student #1: There was no restriction to explaining our own views and ideas, and it improved our way of communication because by communicating, we could judge how others feel. This gave us opportunity to get connected to people with different interest and backgrounds.

Comment of student #2: This communication had to be regular and this assignment has been a successful one only because group members were able to share the ideas, thoughts and feelings. There were no unspoken assumptions and contradictions, which would have led to unproductive group functioning.

Comment of student #3: Since the communication part was great therefore a healthy climate was made and efficient process could be followed. There is a feeling of trust and self-disclosure. Group members trust each another adequately to share our ideas and opinions. A feeling of mutual trust has developed to the level that everybody is ready to self-disclose and be truthful yet courteous (Riggs, 2007). Trust has also developed since the group members showed personal responsibility for the duties they had been allocated.
