Describe the Human Computer Interaction For the Human Vison.

Answer:

Introduction

The trends in the web designing changes rapidly with time. Shitkova et al., (2015) showed that the design trend followed in websites today are completely different from the design followed even a year before. Various trends in website generally comes from the preference and taste of the designer and the usability preference of the targeted users. Apart from that, the advancement of technology has one of the critical and significant impact on developing the design trends. The significant challenges that the designer face is identify the current change and effectively implement the design within the website. Currently the entire design of the website is based on improving the UX (User Experience) with an aim of enhancing the accessibility, usability and satisfaction of the users.

Guidelines for Desktop/Traditional Website Guidelines

The human vison is a critical factor that determined and dominated the website usability. The contrast, space, colors plays a significant role during the development of a website. Most of the focus is induced on the principle of user interface during the development of the desktop website. The larger screen and extra space available on the w
ebsite along with the increased likelihood of using mousepad and keyboard expands the possibilities for maintaining positive user experience (Post, Blijlevens, & Hekkert, 2016). Advertisement places, grids and large interactive screen on the desktop website provides various opportunities in enhancing the user experience. The identification and development of a robust guideline in design, assist the website designer in following the current trends in design.

Research Approach

In order to identify the essential guidelines that needs to be followed for designing the desktop website, various blogs and journals have been evaluated. In addition to that, several websites have been reviewed for identifying the current trends followed in the website design (Oyibo, Ali, & Vassileva, 2016). Goggle’s Advice for the developers has also been considered while developing the required guidelines.

Design Guideline

Structure of the website

The desktop website provides a larger space to the designer for capturing the user attention. The application of an effective navigation panel will allow the user in easily move around the website and taken actions accordingly. Furthermore, the designer needs to incorporate various elements like clickable buttons, bread crumbs, page hierarchy in a logical order helps in increasing the usability (Cao et al., 2016).  In addition to that, the placement of the logo of the respective brand or organization on the top helps in gaining the users attention. Moreover, the logo should be used as clickable menu that allows the user to return to the home page from any page within the hierarchy. Due to the large area of the website, the navigation menu should be kept across the top (Goh 2016). The homepage of the desktop website is the significant page that captures the attention of the users. The homepage of the website should be made attractive with various sliders, background videos or images that shows about the brief content of the webpage.

Colors

Website designer needs to keep in mind that the user visits many ages throughout the day. The color used in the website plays a vital role in enhancing the visual appearance of the website and retain the user attention (Coleman, Clarkson, & Cassim, 2016). The designer needs to effectively use the white spaces within the website. The white spaces affect the user attention as well as reflects the absence of elements, if not properly used. The more space provided around an element within the webpage helps in gaining more user attention. Lestari, Hardianto, and Hidayanto (2014) showed that the white spaces can be used for creating groups with the similar elements.

Material Design

The semi-flat design is the one of the recent and most popular trends in website design. Through the application of the semi-flat design, provides clarity to the viewer (Lestari, Hardianto, & Hidayanto 2014). Semi-flat designs are harder to execute, but when executed properly allows the user to provide cues and direction in navigating and browsing through the website.Typography

The effective application of font and style helps in keeping all the modules and elements together in one page. In general, Sans Serif, Verdana, and Arial are easier to read. The typology used helps in increasing the responsive design and the resolution of the webpage. The application of appropriate typology allows the website in standing out from the others (Google Developers. 2017). Currently, hand writing and serifs are the two trends followed in the websites. The application of Serifs helps in improving the legibility of the website with bigger screen size and higher resolution.

Graphic Design

The evolution of the website design for a desktop is dependent on the graphical layout of the pages. the designer needs to focus on the CSS grids and flexbox for exploring the possibilities of providing innovative designing for attracting the users. In addition to that, Firdaus (2013) showed that the placing if elements randomly on the website screen often result in messy haphazard appearance. Furthermore, the application of the website layouts based on several grids, helps in arranging the elements and content of the website into various boxes, columns, sections that provides balance in appearances.

The designer needs to focus on using F layout structure on the website for encouraging the visual flow.  In addition to that, for designers should use divine proportions that helps in making the various elements aesthetically pleasing to the human eye.

Interactivity and Parallax Scrolling

With the recent trends of website design, the designer needs to integrate parallax scrolling within the website design. The application of parallax scrolling helps in increasing the user engagement with the website. In addition to that, parallax scrolling provides innovative procedure of interactive assessments and interactive storytelling. The interactive assessment with the website allows the user to engage with the website in a deeper level. Through the parallax scrolling the user can experience the highly structured text and images unfolding on the top of another while the user scrolls across the entire page.

Justification of Guideline

Keeping the navigation menu and the logo on the top of the website, helps in gaining the user attention and easy access to the different important modules of the website. The application of the search bar helps the user in easily searching and navigate to the desired page.

The application of parallax scrolling will help in enabling the user experience with interactive one-touch.  Further, through the parallax scrolling, the website can portray any products or services with progressive content while having complete control over the images and storyline.

Furthermore, the use of complementary and contrasting color within the webpage helps in making detailed design and gaining attention of the customer for promotions, calls-to-actions and others.

The use of compatible forts in the website helps in providing compatible looks with the product and services provided through the website. The application of suitable fort and typewriting style helps in understanding the content of the website in much better and effective manner.

Wang et al., (2016) have conducted a study based on eye racking techniques followed by the user have provided results that the human eye scans the website page in a pattern of F. Designing the elements of the website in a F pattern will allow in capturing the natural behavior of the readers and displaying the information on the website in order of importance.

Conclusion

The key requirement of developing a robust website designing guideline is increasing the usability and user interaction with the developed website. The development of attractive and effective website helps in gaining lasting impression on the user. Following and applying the various guidelines developed in the above section provides the following benefits to the design:

The robust design helps in improving the accessibility and availability of the website. The responsiveness of the website with the following clicks helps in optimized visualization of the website design;

Clarity is the second most significant benefits of the website design guideline. The implementation of the above mentioned guidelines and principle helps the user to focus on a particular area or module within the webpages. Good architecture of information, direct feedback, consistency, familiarity and simplicity of the website helps in enhancing he customer satisfaction and retention;

Relevancy of the website design promotes the usability of the website. The websites structure controls the scenario and usability of the user.
