Descrbe the Sociology For the Racial Discriminations.

Answer:

Introduction

In the following research proposal, I will like to examine the inequalities in health among the Blacks and Whites in Canada. There is racial discrimination in terms of health against the Blacks in Canada. I will look into the counterparts of the health inequalities that result in poor health consequences among the Blacks. There are high rates of hypertension and diabetes among the Blacks as a result of their experiences of high levels of racism that affect their survival rates and high mortality rates (Veenstra & Patterson, 2016). There are differences in the socio-economic status, quality of healthcare and negative characterization of the Blacks in the Canadian society. I would like to examine the socio-economic status and health behaviors that are the main reasons for the health inequalities among the Blacks in Canada.

Rationale

I have chosen this topic because there is little evidence about the health inequalities in Canada between the Blacks and Canadians. A large amount of substantial study has been done in the arena of health inequalities among the Whites and Blacks in the United States of America. In America, a large number of Blacks suffer from poor health as compared to the White Americans (Ramraj et al., 2016). There is lack of research and attention given to the condition of the Blacks residing in Canada where they face racial discrimination and health inequalities. The emphasis is given on the racial issues and related health consequences rather than the health inequalities in terms of treatment, quality of care and access to healthcare services.  Therefore, my rationale of choosing this topic is to examine the health inequalities that the Black Americans suffer and to explore he reason for this inequality leading to high disparities in health in Canada.

Research Methods

For the research, I will use qualitative and quantitative methods for the data collection. This research method will help me to explore the health status, social determinants of health inequality and the access to healthcare services. The qualitative method will include the peer-reviewed journals that provide the updated and ongoing research made in this study (Palinkas et al., 2015). I will also look into the sociological theories of racism and ethnicity in textbooks to link the cause of racism in the current healthcare system against Blacks in Canada. News articles and websites will also be used that provide the broader implications including the protests, racism cases and acts of brutality through the lens of the society. The quantitative data collection will include the statistics, ethnographies and surveys collected from the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) and local hospitals (O'Leary, 2017).

Conclusion

I am highly interested in this topic as it is an important issue to look and highlight the implications in the society at a large scale. For this topic, I will try my level best and research as much as possible. This research will be a milestone and I think that through my research, I will be able to explore the underlying causes of the health inequalities in Canada and simultaneously, the racial issues that the Blacks experience on a daily basis.
