Describe how a global project can be more complex than a project performed within just one country. How might these elements affect the successful outcome of the global project?

Answer:

The article is going to discuss about the difference between global project and project performed in one country. The article has enlightened different aspects of both projects to provide transparent idea about the challenges that are faced by the project managers in the global project.

The project is mainly based on many things, such as- planning, organizing, coordination, leadership and so on. The success of the project is highly relied o these aspect. While performing any project in the global context, project management team faces various issues in performing their role in an appropriate manner, as they deal with global issues and challenges, which are more complex than local issues. Here lies difference between local and global market.

  • It is important for the project managers to observe the market structure and trend while operating any project in the market. It is easy to observe the environment of the local or any particular country. However, it is difficult for any project manager to operate in the global context, as they are completely unaware of the environment (Larson & Gray, 2013).
  • Managers face various difficulties in dealing with local employee or labours as well. In order to communicate with them, managers must observe their style and way of interaction (Kerzner, 2013).
  • In order to deal with the consumers, government and stakeholders involved in the organizational function, they need to rely on mediator. Otherwise, they often face various challenges (Kerzner, 2013).

As discussed in the previous section, those are issues that enhance the complexity for the project managers in performing in the global context.
