Question 1

The author's writing style can be defined as the approach that one has decided to take to facilitate their audience message delivery. The writing styles include; descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive the intended message determines the chosen style. Descriptive writing can be fictitious or non-fictitious. However, when the writer chooses this writing style, their intended purpose is to create a pictorial scenario in the reader's head (Jeffrey, 2020). They do not serve the purpose of passing messages to the audience. Still, they help the audience to identify with the story since they can relate to the happenings through their mind pictures. They are used in journals, poems, literature, and in the description of nature. Descriptive writing utilizes metaphors and literary devices for image creation.

Narrative writing involves works that are intended to pass a certain theme to the audience using characterization settings and conflicts. Narrative writing can be fictitious or based on true stories. Narrative writing is applied in novels, poems, and short stories writing (Jeffrey, 2020). Moreover, expository writing is utilized when there is a need to pass factual information that does not need opinion addition (Jeffrey, 2020). The factual presenters avoid any approach that might make them pass their opinion since the major focus is on the available data. The writing style is found in business, scientific and technical writing, statically data analysis, presentation of current happenings, and in textbooks.

Persuasive writing is applied mainly in academic writing, where the author tries to convince a certain perspective. In persuasive writing, the writer usually has a stand, and they want their audience to understand, or they are seeking their support. The persuasion process is supported by factual data and the application of logical reasoning. Persuasive writing requires confidence and intense research to avoid misleading the audience (Jeffrey, 2020). Word selection in persuasive writing is precise to raise the intended emotions and opinions of the target population. It is found in written official communication tools advertisements and reviews.

Genre theory emphasizes the role of understanding the target audience in any form of writing. It further explains how language, the content tone used by the author determines the societal acceptance and approval (Martínez Lirola,2015). The theory can be applied in academic writing were despite using different words and phrases; it is important to understand that ambiguity hinders the audience's level of understanding.

Persuasive writing was my chosen writing style since it provided a framework for me to pursue my chosen topic. The writing style enabled me to pass my message efficiently to my audience. The genre theory helped in audience identification and understanding. However, despite the application of one writing style did not mean that the author's do not have the liberty of combining the various writing style. Integration of various writing styles creates an authentic and attractive work. Nevertheless, the nature of my topic and assignment did not allow me to combine writing styles.

Question 3

The preliminary stage in the writing process involved data collection and extensive note-taking (Purdue University, 2020). At this stage, the writer has a wide range of topics, and feasibility tests help in choosing the most relevant topic. The feasibility test at this stage is done by researching the available topics. After researching, the writer is now able to choose the topic that they feel like they can easily identify with and has sufficient evidence.

The research topic is sometimes chosen using the writer's feelings or prior history of the study. It is easier to write on a topic that someone has prior knowledge about or lays a certain level of interest. At this stage, if the topic chosen is informative or factual, the writers save the references found to form the body and the authenticity of the work. At this stage, the writer recognizes the importance of choosing the right tone, language, and style in an attempt to understand the target audience. Saving the reference purpose at this stage saves time when reflecting or confirming some information from the sources. A referenced work looks convincing since the author look like they have the needed field knowledge. Applying the genre theory helped me choose the write language and tone. Moreover, it made me reflect on and understand my target audience.

Draft writing is the second step in the writing process (Purdue University, 2020). At this stage, body writing is started with since it will develop the content for the introduction and conclusion. When writing the draft making mistakes are allowed, and in case the individual realizes that they are not comfortable with the topic, they have the liberty of choosing another topic. The draft stage eliminates all the mistakes that could be found in the final copy. Moreover, the works order is formed at this stage. After the body has been formed, the introduction (provides the work oversight) and conclusion (summarizes the body) are written. At this stage, I had formed the skeleton of my creative writing article.

The final stage is the polishing stage(Purdue University, 2020). The draft work is organized better, and unidentified mistakes are searched and removed. After this stage, the work becomes ready for the audience. During the polishing stage, I realized some minor mistakes which I corrected.
