Answer:

1. According to the case study, one of the identified risk area is impaired social interaction.Impaired social interaction is a consistent absence of orientation to either a person, place and circumstances. This is a very risky area that needs immediate nursing intervention(Ialongo et al., 2015).It is usually exhibited through confusion, slow response to questions and failure to follow simple instructions. From the case study,it is clear that Chung spends most of his time at work and theref

ore he has no time for social activities. He even rarely sits with his family alone.Studies show that lack of social interaction leads to mental disorders.

2. To improve on the social interaction of the patient who is Chung in this scenario, the nurse has to come up with an appropriate intervention. The best nursing intervention in this case includes providing activities that require very minimal concentration such as playing simple games like the board game.Since depressed people usually lack concentration as well as memory, the rationale for this nursing intervention is to minimize on the clients opportunities to place himself down at any given time. The nurse should also maximise the patients contacts with other people(Taylor, Bee, & Haddock, 2016).The rationale for this intervention is because studies have shown that contact with other people usually distracts the patient from the self preoccupation aspect.
3. One of the mental health concern identified in the case study is depression.Depression is a branch of feelings such as feeling low, sadness and loss of interest in daily activities.According to this case study,Chung is probably depressed. This is due to a series of events like failure of his parents to attend his wedding(Wang, Kearney, Jia, & Shang, 2016).The longer hours he spents at work rather than his family as well as how committed his wives parents are in caring for their children. All this factors contribute to depression.

4. The nursing intervention for depression includes the nurse encouraging Chung to freely express his feelings such as anger, sadness or guilt and coming up with alternative ways in which he can handle his feelings as well as frustration(Ebert, Cuijpers, Muñoz, & Baumeister, 2017).The nursing intervention should be done frequently like twice a day.The rationale for this is to assist the patient learn different ways on how to deal with emotions and gain a sense of his life. The nurse should also consider contacting his family and then arrange for a crisis counselling sessions and activating links to slef help groups. The rationale behind this intervention is that patients with depression need a lot of resources to assist them lose personal feelings of worthlessness.

5. The two ethical principles identified in the case study are confidentiality and truth telling. The principle of confidentiality states that whatever information the patient shares with the nurse,it has to remain confidential and the nurse should not share with any other person(Ebert, Cuijpers, Muñoz, & Baumeister, 2017).In this case study,Chung notes that Harriets parents are very involving in taking care of his child and this bothers him very much.As a nurse,I am not supposed to conceal this information.Truth telling on the other hand is an ethical principle that allows the nurse to share patient information with the relatives. In this case study, the nurse should consider telling the family members some of the issues affecting Chung.
