According to Burns and Staker, (1961), organic organisations don’t have any informal set up. It is a flexible and an adaptable form of organisation which can adapt effectively to change. Its structure has been identified as having job specialization, with levels of management, decision making process which is decentralized with less supervisory approach. It promotes flexibility and appreciates external knowledge. Organic organisation has been referred to as organismic which partly forms the organizational structure.

Organic organisation decision making process often arises from the needs of the individual personalities who are the drivers of changes which are proposed without any due consultations. The group members in this structure often adapt to the stipulated changes without any question.

This model of organization exhibits independent dimension in that it takes into account the needs of staff employees which enhances team leadership and team work in general. Most notable consequence of organic organization is that it decentralizes tasks and decisions, which enable it to adapt and cope up with the changing circumstances. From the above information, it is evident that organic organizations often exhibit low level of complexity, thus it shows flat structure entity with limited layers of management. They have few rules of engagement and procedures to be followed. The employees have vague degree of formalization and centralization. This gives an upper edge to employees to share decision making power process, which often stimulate creativity and innovation. Its effectiveness in adjusting to volatile environment helps it to adjust due to the aligned attributes which make it address any unforeseeable problems.
