Cluster 3: Workplace Assignment

This assessment will contribute to your final result for the following four (4) units:

  • CHCADV001 – Facilitate the interests and rights of clients
  • HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care
  • CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk
  • CHCCCS016 – Respond to client needs

What you have to do

In this assignment, you are required to complete Parts A and B:

  • Part A – You are required to answer four (4) questions.
  • Part B – This section should be completed in the workplace. The Supervisor Statement attached to this assignment should be completed by your workplace supervisor and submitted with your completed assessment.

How you will be assessed

This unit is competency based. In order to be deemed competent in this unit you must satisfy all elements specific to the unit and the essential knowledge and critical aspects of assessment in a range of situations. The assessment has been developed to cover these criteria and your TAFE Digital teacher will review all your work and assess your overall result to deem you competent.

Please reference your work. Referencing guides are available in the Guidelines and information area on the OLS.

Part A

  1. Access the workplace safety policy and procedures and identify how workplace safety is handled in your workplace. Are there any aspects of this policy that could be added to, removed or updated?
  2. Identify two (2) manual handling and two (2) infection hazards within the workplace that may need reporting.
  3. Provide two (2) examples of how you or a colleague have supported and/or advocated for clients during work placement.
  4. Outline the nature of the service where you are on work placement and provide two (2) community resources, networks and referral options that could be accessed to support a client.

Part B

This section should be completed in the workplace. You are required to demonstrate the skills listed in the Supervisor’s Statement below.

To show evidence of your ability to complete these tasks, you need to submit the workplace Supervisor’s Statement provided below.

A workplace supervisor provides evidence of your skills in the workplace and completes the ‘Supervisor’s Statement’.

The supervisor:

  • Needs to be in a position to make informed comment on your performance.
  • Consent to be contacted by a TAFE Digital teacher about the process.

Evidence

The supervisor should identify and comment on a range of evidence of your skills and knowledge. Suitable evidence could include:

  • Direct observation of your skills.
  • Questions to demonstrate your knowledge.
  • Workplace documents.
  • Supervisor report.
