2> Create a new dichotomous variable “recode_relig” based on the value of religion. Specifically, if religion = “none”, the respondent should be categorized as non-religious (i.e. recode_relig = 0); if the respondent has any religious preference according to religion, the individual should be categorized as religious (i.e. recode_relig = 1); if religion = missing, let recode_relig equal to missing too. Label 0 as “non-religious”, label 1 as “religious.”
