A Brief History and Introduction
Fanshawe College is situated in London, Ontario, Canada, at a distance of about two hours from the United States cities of Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Detroit. The college is an institute that is known for the top quality of education that it imparts to its students. These students come from all over the world in pursuit of good education. The college currently enrols more than 21,000 full-time students, including an approximately 7,000 international students from more than 100 different countries all over the globe.
Fanshawe is one of Ontario's largest universities. There are more than two hundred academic programs for the students to choose from. As is obvious, these courses are offered across a wide range of courses and disciplines. This ensures that the student body at the college is highly diverse.
Fanshawe is located in the Canadian province of Ontario's southwestern region. Fanshawe College is spread over four major campuses. The London campus encompasses 100 acres and is comprised of 23 structures. It contains the Norton Wolf Aviation Technology School and the Transportation Technology and Apprenticeship School. The Regional Campus in Elgin/St. Thomas provides all kinds of courses, including diploma, continuing education for professionals, certificate courses for students, academic upgrading, career assistance for those who need it, training programs to prepare for corporate life, and much more. At the forks of Highways 401 and 403, the Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus is located. Exclusive to the campus are full-time programs such as hairstyling, business (entrepreneurship and management), refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning technician, and police foundations (accelerated).
Also, Fanshawe College had a campus in the north of London, in the central Huron/Bruce region. Since 2007, it has become a fixture.
Among Fanshawe College's notable alumni are decathlete and Olympic bronze medalist Damian Warner, television sportscaster Caroline Cameron, chef Brad Long, screenwriter, producer, and director Paul Haggis, author Kelley Armstrong, politician Carol Mitchell, artist Jeff Willmore, and filmmaker, musician, and survival expert Les Stroud, who is best known for Survivorman.
Fanshawe University provides over 200 academic programs, ranging from two-year certificates to three-year advanced diplomas to one-year post-graduate studies and honors bachelor degrees (four years).

Fanshawe College is a member of the Canadian Bureau of International Education on an honorary basis (CBIE). This shows Fanshawe's commitment to offering studying abroad opportunities to its students. Over the years, the college has successfully forged partnerships and strong relationships with as many as 26 universities in Europe, Asia, and South America. It is a strong belief of the Fanshawe College that international education benefits students not only by exposing them to different cultures and enabling them to explore the world, but also by helping them in developing their resumes when the time comes to look for employment.
Fanshawe University offers semester-long international exchange programs in a number of countries. The students looking to study in multiple countries get access to a wide range of opportunities and choose the program of their choice. If there are any students who do not wish to pursue their entire semester in another country, the college offers the chance to avail month-long cultural exchanges in countries like India, Japan, France, and Finland.
Fanshawe College includes a metropolitan campus in London, Ontario, with satellite campuses in St. Thomas, Simcoe, Woodstock, and a variety of smaller communities across Southwestern Ontario. The London location serves as the college's main campus and is home to the college's administrative offices.
The London Campus is spread over 100 acres of land and is comprised of 11 college buildings. It presently enrols 21,000 students in full-time programs. The main campus of Fanshaw College is notable for housing the Center for Applied Transportation Technology (CATT), the Centre for Digital and Performance Arts (CDPA), and the Fanshawe Aviation Centre.
The London Downtown Campus is well-known as the city's arts, cultural, and digital media center. It is home to the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, the School of Information Technology and Tourism, and the School of Digital and Performing Arts.
Fanshawe's newest location, the London South Campus, offers five graduate certificate programs. The programs are well-known for providing students with opportunities for exploratory learning and skill development.
St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus is home to 1,000 part-time students and 300 full-time students. It provides diplomas, certificates, career and job services, and training programs.
The campus includes classrooms and lecture halls, auditoriums, seminar rooms, food and beverage options, well-stocked libraries, and hospitality training restaurants, in addition to research and engineering labs, computing and information technology facilities, residence halls, and recreational and leisure facilities.
The International Office, with the help of the Accommodation Coordinator, administers and offers housing alternatives to Fanshawe students.
They collaborate with the Canada Homestay Network to assist you in locating a house that can make you feel at ease while you adapt to life in Canada. Additionally, you may apply for residence on campus or use the off-campus housing directory to choose your own place to call home.
The Canada Homestay Network (CHN) administers Fanshawe College's homestay program. It offers foreign students welcoming homestays and custodial services to ensure they feel supported and have a feeling of belonging while studying in Canada.
The three on-campus conventional homes and townhouse apartments at 900 Fanshawe College Blvd comprise 1200 spaces. As a result, students who choose on-campus accommodation benefit from a convenient and roomy living environment.
Additionally, Fanshawe provides a Housing Mediation service. It is a free, confidential service designed to help individuals in resolving urgent issues that may arise in the areas of housing and lifestyle.

Fanshawe's First Nations Centre assists Indigenous students, whether they are recognized or non-recognized First Nations, Metis, or Inuit. Fanshawe has an outstanding library with very helpful and pleasant staff. The Virtual Library enables you to do extensive research from the comfort of your own home – or from any location with an Internet connection.

The Fanshawe Student Union, or FSU, is home to a variety of student clubs and associations, including the Arts Club, the Literary Society, Model United Nations, the e-Sports Club, the Gaming Club, the Computer Science Society, and various other clubs and associations.
Fanshawe is one of the finest varsity sports programs in Canada, having won more than 20 national championships, 140 provincial championships, 200+ student-athletes yearly, and 15 OCAA and three CCAA national medals in the 2019/2020 season. Enhance your game by joining one of the varsity sports teams.
The campus is home to a variety of eateries, cafés, and convenience shops where students may pick from a variety of breakfast and lunch choices, as well as fast food, quick snacks, and drinks. Additionally, the school is near to many eateries and fast-food franchises, including Taco Bell, Tim Hortons, and McDonald's.
Students may arrange excursions to Niagara Falls and the City of Toronto, both of which are situated a little over an hour from the city. Fanshawe's Career Service provides a variety of programs and activities to assist students in their quest for co-op placements and post-graduation employment. Each year, Career Fairs with 100 companies are conducted on campus, in addition to skill development, mentorship, workshops, and lectures. Career Service Consultants are available to meet with students to discuss résumés and employment possibilities. Additionally, students have access to a variety of online resources.
Full-time students may work up to 20 hours per week off-campus while enrolled in school and up to 40 hours per week between semesters. Students enrolled in the EAP are not permitted to work off-campus. Students may apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) that can allow them to work in Canada for up to three years, depending on the length of their studies.
According to the most current KPI (Key Performance Indicators) survey findings, Fanshawe graduates do very well in terms of obtaining work. 87.6 percent of Fanshawe graduates find work within six months after graduation. Fanshawe's graduation employment rate is the second-highest among Ontario's major institutions. According to the 2018 i-graduate survey, Fanshawe ranks first in Student Overall Satisfaction with Learning out of 199 institutions globally (including six Ontario colleges).
