Assessment details	Instructions
Assessment overview	The objective of this assessment is to assess your knowledge as would be required to: confirm client requirements and identify relevant network equipment install and configure hardware and software configure and test network secure network.
Assessment event number	1 of 5
Instructions for this assessment	This is a written assessment and it will be assessing you on your knowledge of the unit. This assessment is in two parts: 1. Short answer questions 2. Scenario-based questions.
Submission instructions	When you have completed this assessment, submit it online for marking by your assessor. You are required to submit the following file: This updated assessment document. It is important that you keep a copy of all electronic and hardcopy assessments submitted to TAFE and complete the assessment declaration when submitting the assessment.
What do I need to do to achieve a satisfactory result?	To achieve a satisfactory result for this assessment all questions must be answered correctly.
Assessment conditions	Assessment conditions will replicate the workplace, including noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances.
What do I need to provide?	Computer, internet and login details Word processing software USB drive or other storage method with enough free space to save work to.
What the assessor will provide?	Access to the Learning Management System.

Scenario – PlanetG3

PlanetG3 is a small start-up company located in Sydney. They currently have eight employees and are planning to expand their office premises in the near future. PlanetG3 has consulted with your company XYZ Networking Services to setup their small office network.

As the Network Engineer at XYZ Networking Services, you are given the task of planning and designing the small office network for your client. You will be reporting to your project manager at XYZ Networking Services Mr Mark Myers (Email: markmyers@xyz.com , Phone: 0415987563)
