Introduction: Heart failure is a critical condition when the heart is unable to pump a sufficient amount of blood to the peripheral area. The condition of heart failure may be acute or chronic. It may also be the blood flow to the other organs that will restrict or blocking of blood to the heart. It may also lead to a heart attack or problem with the opening or closing of valves. The common cause of heart failure is coronary artery disease, an abnormal condition in which the artery becomes narrow which supplies the blood as well as oxygen to the heart. Other conditions may as follow:

  • Cardiomyopathy (a condition in which the heart muscle becomes weak).
  • Any heart defects.
  • Heart attack.
  • Heart valve problems.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Lungs disease.

  • Certain kinds of anemia.

  • Excess consumption of alcohol.

Symptoms: The symptoms may have:

  • Weight gain suddenly.

  • Left-sideheartfailure: The area of the heart supplies the oxygen to the rest part of the body. Failing to the same can cause shortness of breath and building up the fluid.
  • Right-sideheartfailure: The right side of the heart is responsible for the supply of blood to the lungs for the purpose of purification. This can cause lung disease or left-side heart failure.
  • Diastolicheartfailure: This is due to the hardness and stiffness of the heart muscle which results in an inadequate amount of blood fill up in the heart, which is also referred to as diastolic dysfunction. It results in shortness of blood supply to the body organs.
  • Systolicheartfailure: This is only for the weakness of heart muscle which can lead to the inability of contraction. Due to which the problem arises for the pumping of oxygenated blood to the body. The condition is also known as systolic dysfunction.

Diagnosis: Echocardiogram, a technique in which sound waves used diagnosed the heart failure. The sound waves can draw a detailed image of a heart condition from which the doctor can conclude the underlying cause of the heart.
